Trademark and Service Marks
BANKERS is a registered trademark and the BANKERS logo is a service mark which is owned by BANKERS or other entity affiliated to BANKERS. Other featured words or symbols used in the Site to identify BANKERS or any products or services thereof, are the trademarks or service marks of BANKERS. You may not modify, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, download, post, transmit, publicly display, create a derivative work, sell, or otherwise use for public, commercial or other purposes any of the trademarks or service marks in the Site without the express written consent of BANKERS.
Submissions
All information and requests submitted to BANKERS via the Site shall be deemed and remain the property of BANKERS. BANKERS shall be free to use, for any purpose, any idea, concepts, know-how or techniques contained in such information. BANKERS shall not be subject to any obligations of confidentiality regarding submitted information except as specially agreed or as required by applicable law or as per BANKERS privacy statement.

Limitation of Liability
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL BANKERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, LOSSES OR LIABILITIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITY OR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT, (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, THAT ARISES OUT OF, OR IS IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH, THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE OR ANY PORTION THEREOF, OR ANY LINKED WEBSITES, EVEN IF BANKERS IS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF DAMAGES, LOSSES OR LIABILITIES.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless BANKERS and all of its respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees and agents thereof, from and against all claims and expenses, including attorney's fees, arising out of your violation of these terms of use or misuse of the Site or products or services provided via the Site.
Additional Terms
Certain pages of the Site may contain information or documentation with separate terms and conditions that are in addition to these terms of use. In the event of a conflict, such separate terms and conditions shall govern the products and services offered or provided in such pages or documentation.

Right to Modify or Terminate
BANKERS reserves the sole right to modify the products and services offered in the Site. BANKERS also reserves the sole right to terminate access to such products and services, or access to the Site, or suspend any subscription and/or block access to the Site in whole or in part, at any time for any reason including, without limitation if the user has failed to comply with the Sites’ terms of use.
Any suspension or termination of your membership/access to the Site shall not affect your obligations under these terms of use. The provisions of these terms of use (including but not limited to indemnities, releases, disclaimers, limitations on liability, provisions governing law and jurisdiction) shall survive the suspension or termination of your membership/access to the Site.
Severability
In the event any of the terms or provisions of these terms of use shall be held to be unenforceable, the remaining terms and provisions shall be unimpaired, and the unenforceable term or provision shall be replaced by such enforceable term or provision as comes closest to the intention underlying the unenforceable term or provision.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms of use constitute a contract between you and BANKERS. You agree that your use of the Site shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Republic of Lebanon. You expressly agree to submit to the sole and exclusive jurisdiction of the Lebanese courts in Beirut governorate.

At BANKERS ASSURANCE SAL (“BANKERS” or “We”/”Us”), We recognize the significance of your personal information (including sensitive personal data such as health information and/or user image) entrusted to us and we attach great importance to their protection.
This Notice serves to inform You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You when you share or we collect personal data to Us. We also outline in this notice how we handle, store and safeguard personal information within our applications and systems.
This Notice has been prepared to describe our practices regarding the processing of personal data collected or received from individuals (“You”) that have subscribed to, or is an insured, under a policy underwritten by BANKERS (“Policy”) as well as the personal data collected by BANKERS from the use, browsing and access to the https://www.bankers-assurance.com/ (Website) and all the sites that are mentioned in the Terms of Use of the said website (together the “Sites”). The Sites of BANKERS provides information on all services that We provide to Our customers and is governed by the Terms of Use and the present data privacy notice which are available on the Website.
At BANKERS, we are committed to complying with all Our obligations under the applicable Data Protection legislation in Lebanon, notably Law no. 81/2018 - known as the Electronic Transactions and Personal Data Law (and its implementing regulations) - and shall process Your personal data in accordance with the principles and measures described in this Notice.
The present Notice is drafted to include the activities and services that BANKERS provides through the Sites – notably insurance promotion – as well as the services that BANKERS offers offline, from proposal issuance to underwriting and insurance advisory services through all the Sites
What kind of personal data do We process?
In the context of Our operations, We collect or receive from our affiliated companies, our partners, insurance brokers or agents, or directly from You or from available public sources the personal data related to individuals or “data subjects” (individuals that connect through our apps/systems, our policyholders, insureds, and beneficiaries, and their families and dependents) that are named in Our Policies.
The personal data that We collect is used (i) by Us namely to provide the services to a data subject that has contacted and/or contracted with BANKERS, as specified under the legal and/or contractual framework under which We operate as insurer in Lebanon, and (ii) for Us to exercise our rights under such framework, and as further described in this Notice.
The following is a list with all categories of personal data that BANKERS processes for such named individuals in the context of the services that BANKERS offers, with examples of what each category may include.
- General Information: Name, Surname, Spouse’s / Father's / Mother's Name, Age, marital status, Gender, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, Nationality, Passport or ID details, family members and dependents personal data (name, age, place of birth, date of birth, and ID document)
- Contact details: Home / Company Address, Corporate / Personal E-mail Address, Corporate / Personal Telephone Number, Corporate / Personal Fax Number
- Payment Information: Full bank details or other payment method, and payments made or received in the context of policy management services
- Financial Information: Current employer and job functions, remuneration and benefits (current income and sources of wealth, net worth which may be supported with financial reports, balance sheet, audited financial statements, income tax documents etc.…)
- Contractual information: Details of your premium contribution, benefits, coverage, and details about other policies held and with whom you hold them
- Behavioral Information: Accidents history, habits, hobbies, alcohol consumption, Hazardous sports, tobacco use, pastimes, and frequent flying, available information from online social media services
- Information on Sites: Username and connected email address
What kind of Sensitive Personal Data does Bankers process?
The following is a list with all categories of sensitive or special category of personal data that BANKERS processes for the individuals that connect through any of BANKERS applications/systems, and/or are named in a Policy as an insured, with examples of what each category may include.
- Health Information: Current or previous physical, mental or medical condition, health status, injury or disability information, medical diagnosis, medical procedures performed and treatment given, prescription information, and medical history
- Biometric Data: User image upload, fingerprint data and/or facial recognition collected through any applications of BANKERS (Bankers on Track).
Why do we process your personal data and under which legal basis?
We process personal data only for specific purposes and only if we have a lawful reason for that. These reasons are:
- To fulfil or to enter into a contract we have with You, or
- When it is our legal obligation, or
- When it is in our - or a third party’s legitimate interest, or
- When You consent to it, in accordance with the privacy terms that have been made available to you.
We will not collect or use sensitive personal data without your prior explicit consent unless the law allows us to do so explicitly. This applies to all types of sensitive personal data stated above. We do not share sensitive personal data with any third parties without obtaining explicit consent from the user or unless required by applicable laws or regulations.
What we use your personal data for?
Here is a list of all the purposes that We, as underwriters, may use personal data collected, and which of the reasons we rely on to do so (legal basis, including our legitimate interests).
- Purpose: To undertake pre-underwriting verifications including compliance checks to meet regulatory requirements; Legal basis: consent
- Purpose: To assess the risk under a Policy and negotiate the best available coverage with a customer; Legal basis: Legitimate Interests
- Purpose: To determine the general and special conditions and the appropriate premium for a Policy; Legal basis: Performance of our obligations under the Policy
- Purpose: To manage the Policy, meaning to handle the resolution and payment of premium and claims and administer our underwriting services in general. Legal basis: Meet legal requirements and comply with regulations (from local and international authorities) and meet our obligations towards contracting parties
- Purpose: To perform or when subject to audits and investigations from internal departments or external audits (whether conducted on premises or remotely), in order to prevent the use of our products for money laundering purposes and / or for financing terrorism. Legal basis: Respond and/or defend against legal claims or respond to complaints submitted by You or on Your behalf
- Purpose: In some of our applications, we may request access to user image information for specific features or functionalities. This information is used solely for the intended purpose, such as profile images or avatar customization, to enhance the user experience. We do not use or share this information for any other unrelated purposes. Legal basis: consent
By providing personal data through BANKERS applications/systems, You consent to its collection and use as described in this Notice. You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us as described below.
The withdrawal of Your consent shall neither affect the lawfulness of any processing done before such withdrawal nor any processing done in respect of other services We continue to provide to You.
When We introduce new services or activities which result in the processing of Your personal data, such as the introduction of new tools, You may choose to Opt-In or Opt-Out of these additional services. If you wish to Opt-Out later on, you can do so by withdrawing your initial consent to the specific new services or processing activities, at any time by sending an email to: dataprotection@bankers-assurance.com. You must specify all services from which you wish to Opt-Out.
Do we use automated processing?
We do not perform any automated processing of personal data, despite the use of automated means to service You.
If We do so in the future, and subject to any applicable legal requirements and limitations, We undertake the commitment to provide You meaningful information regarding the said processing, along with your right to contest any automated decision made about You.
Where do we get personal data from?
We may collect personal data about You from several sources – and from You. In this section we tell you about all the places where we get data that counts as part of your personal information.
a) Information we collect directly from you (policyholder, insureds, beneficiaries):
- When You register to receive further information from our services on Our Sites or when you submit a claim or complaint through Our Sites;
- When You log in to and browse our Sites;
- When You apply or renew the request for our products and services by contacting Us offline; or
- When We perform our obligations to provide you with insurance underwriting services in accordance with Your Policy.
b) Information we collect from third parties or through other means – mainly but not exhaustively:
- Corporate Clients and employers/Union/Universities etc… when the data subjects are covered under a group policy as an individual member;
- Our affiliates, insurance Brokers and/or agents that We work with in order to align with Your requirements and comply with our obligations and/or legal requirements;
- Medical and healthcare examiners - if we need to access health records or assessments for the purposes of arranging and underwriting certain products or facilitating and handling claims;
- Actuaries and insurance specialists where these specialists can handle specific risks;
- Third party administrators and service providers (to the extent applicable) provided that they are bound by confidentiality undertakings and provisions restricting data processing activities; or
- Other public sources (for example, publicly available information from online social media services and other information resources, third party business information sources for further analysis etc..).
Who do we share personal data with?
We provide access to Your personal data strictly to Our employees who are responsible for the fulfilment of the purposes listed in this Notice or where required by law.
For the purpose of fulfilling Our obligations to You, We will also share Your personal data with the parties named in the paragraph above (where do we get your personal data from) (whether the parties are situated in Lebanon or abroad) so that We may provide You with a wide range of products and services, run our business effectively, and comply with laws and regulations that apply to us. The list above is also completed with third parties we deal with, that have a legitimate reason to receive the personal data, such as reinsurers and retrocessionnaire, loss adjustors/surveyors etc.
We may also share personal data with our legal solicitors in case of a dispute, complaint or claim, to seek advice or assistance in a particular case.
Finally, we may be required to share personal data with competent authorities, that is, supervisors, judicial authorities, public authorities, regulators, commissions and tax authorities to comply with legal obligations of disclosures.
In any case, We guarantee that We will not process personal data of the concerned data subjects to other third parties for any purpose or use, other than those expressly disclosed in this Notice, and/or for which you have expressed an explicit consent.
How long do we keep your personal data?
We will keep your personal data for as long as we are servicing you.
We may keep your personal data for up to 10 years after our relationship terminates to obey legal rules that apply to us about keeping records.
In case the application or application for amendment of Your Policy has not been accepted, We will keep your personal data collected for that specific application up to 1 year from the date of notification of the rejection.
After the retention period, we will ensure the secure destruction and/or deletion of your data.
How do we keep your information secure?
We store any personal data information securely within our systems, employing industry-standard security measures to protect against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
To assure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Your personal data, We have a comprehensive, risk-based information security program. We have implemented multiple layers of security to minimize the risks to personal data and the privacy of individuals. Such protection includes network security controls, logical and physical access controls, maintaining up-to-date inventories (authorized hardware and software), usage of security software, monitoring and response procedures, as well as regular information security awareness training of all involved employees.
This is a cycle that we continue to improve, as risks are always evolving and security can never be 100% assured. Vigilance and collaboration are crucial to our efforts to ensure the security of Your personal data.
We take particular care when working with third parties referred to in this Notice. We only share personal data in an anonymized format with business partners, third party service providers or vendors when we need to meet our obligations stated under this Notice. We require third parties to maintain similar security standards to ours for the protection of personal data and where such parties work for Us, they are contractually bound to maintain the confidentiality of any personal data they receive from Us and not use this personal data for any unauthorized purpose.
What are your rights?
You have the following rights depend on our reason for processing your personal data:
- Right of access;
- Right to rectification in case You think Your personal data is inaccurate or incomplete; and
- Right to withdraw your consent.

Said time limit may be extended following notification, taking into consideration the complexity of the request and the number or requests being processed. Please keep in mind that Our response to Your aforementioned request is provided free of charge. However, if Your request is obviously inadmissible, excessive or repeated, We may charge a reasonable fee, after notifying You in advance or refuse to respond to Your request.
